This week’s questions; all about birthdays! Have fun and thank you for playing each week. =)

1. Name one thing you received as a gift on your last birthday.
People don’t really get me presents much anymore.  I think Gary took me out to eat, on my last birthday, at my favorite local Italian restaurant.
2. What would be the “perfect” birthday gift?
Probably going out to eat, at that restaurant, or any other restaurant that this man owns.  (Yummy!)  For a tangible gift, maybe a cd of march music, or some classical piano music would be nice. Or how about my own iPod?  LOL!
3. Do you look forward to birthdays?
Sure.  It’s a way to celebrate another year of being alive!
4. On your birthday, do you treat yourself to something special each year?
Probably going out somewhere for a chai latte!
5. Do you bother keeping up with your horoscope on a regular basis?
Not particularly.
6. What zodiac sign are you, and do you think you fit the description for that sign?
I’m Pisces and I think it fits me!

In a nutshell:
Pisces is symbolized by the Fish. You’re empathetic, openhearted and intuitive. You rely on your instincts rather than facts or logic, experiencing things almost completely subjectively. Daydreamy and creative, you prefer to go with the flow rather than fight the current.

I’m definitely a go-with-the-flow person.  I don’t like to make waves!

Letting Go and Staying Connected

Saturday, May 19th, 2007

Yes, I think that was the theme of the day’s presentations at UW-Oshkosh, for a batch of incoming freshman and their nervous parents!  We had a day of college orientation today.  It kept making my eyes tear up, at the thought of my baby going off to college.  I’m alternately happy and excited that she will be in college and sad that she won’t be around home so much anymore.

I know she’ll have such a good time at college, because despite the coursework, papers to write, homework, and reading to do, I know she’ll have so much fun!  Part of me is jealous, because I almost wish I could go do it all over again, yet I know at this age, it just wouldn’t be the same experience that it was in my late teens, and early 20’s.

At least the people were all good speakers.  I think everyone of them made us laugh, at one point or another!  It helped the day to go a little bit faster.

Emily had a fun weekend, up in Door County with Grandma and Grandpa.  Even at the age of 15, it’s still very fun to stay overnight, at their house!  This morning, she got to go riding at a stable, where they let you groom the horse and tack it up, ride it, and then groom it again!  Also, you have to sign up for a specific time, and then it’s only you, for that time, so she got private time, with the horse person, and the horse.

Poor Jasmine is stuck at the kennel, until morning, because we got home too late to have picked her up tonight.  He charges $15 extra, for off-hour pickups.  Ugh.  So, we will be there bright and early at 7:30am, to bring her back home!  It just doesn’t seem the same in the house, with Emily and Jasmine both gone.

This week’s questions are straight off the top of my head again… Here we go! Thank you so much for playing and have a wonderful week ahead. =)

1. Which web browser do you prefer?
Internet Explorer.  I play around with Firefox and Opera, a little bit, though.
2. Are you a PC user or MAC user?
A PC user.
3. Will your next computer purchase happen within the next year (do you think)?
It would be nice, but I’m not holding my breath, with college to pay for, next year.  My Dell will by 6 years old this summer and has a 1.3 gigaherz processor.  It takes a while to open Dreamweaver, but once open, it works fine, though.  I do have a 320 gb hard drive, though!  LOL!
4. Will you purchase your next computer at a local store or via the internet?
We probably won’t buy “a computer”.  Gary will probably buy the parts, and put it together himself!  He loves building computers!
5. Have you had any experience with Windows Vista?
Unfortunately not.  I like playing with new stuff, but I haven’t had a chance yet.
6. What are your feelings about this new operating system (if any)?
I have no opinion, since I have never played with it.

Sunday

Sunday, May 6th, 2007

Kids made it to Minneapolis, MN and back, safe and sound!  They had a good time, but were sure tired, when they got off the bus at 1:45 am this morning.  It was 3am, before we all settled back off to sleep again.  DH said maybe he should go downstairs, to hang out for a while, because he couldn’t get back to sleep.  He was snoring within minutes of making that statement, so I was the one who left, to go sleep on the couch, where it was quiet!  LOL!

Then, this morning, I went back into the bedroom and I was trying to get back to sleep, but not having much luck, when the newspaper came.  Jasmine heard it, and barked at the newspaper boy, then jumped on the bed and pawed me, because she thought I should go get the paper!  Gary was still sleeping, though!  She tried again, but I still didn’t get up.  It’s Jasmine’s job to notify me that things have happened, like stove beepers going off, or things coming to the door!  she’s very good at it, too!  Soon after that, Gary woke up, and he got the paper.  Then Jasmine was happy!

It’s just the kids and me, at home now, since Gary had to go to work already.  He has to shoot pictures at the Lakeland College graduation today! I’m still waiting for Sarah to come to life.  Emily is already up and dressed.
