Why does it keep snowing on Thursdays?

On Thursday nights, Emily and I like to gather with other knitters at Bahr Creek in Cedar Grove.  We’ve missed more darn Thursdays, because of snow, and it’s driving us crazy!  It’s 15 miles away, so snow can be an issue.  Argh.  Tomorrow, this is the forecast.

Thursday

Not as cold. Light snow likely in the morning…then snow in the afternoon. Snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches. Highs in the upper 20s. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph shifting to the west late in the afternoon. Chance of snow 90 percent.

So, it looks like we will be knitting at home, yet another Thursday.  On WTMJ this morning, they said 3-6 inches. When is spring coming?  Last week Wednesday, 2-6-08, we ended up with 16.5 inches of snow, bringing our seasonal total to 62 inches, which is up from our seasonal average of 41 inches.  We’ve had 3 inches and 2 inches, since then, too!  Geez.

The only good thing is that days are getting longer.  There is actually a little bit of daylight, when I get up around 6:15am and it’s very much still light out, after 5pm, in the evening, too!  So, we are getting closer to spring.

About Dawn

I like to play the piano, read, knit, and play with my dog. Temps are getting cooler now and the leaves are changing color, since it's fall now.

I know what you mean, when I lived in CT, one year it seemed the systems only came through on Tues and Thursdays! Here in Calif we were getting rain on Mon….too much fun for one person! Stay warm and I keep warm thoughts for you! Hugs :O)

I know! We haven’t been out to the yarn shop in quite a few weeks, maybe even more than a month… Sometimes we do meet up here in town, like at starbucks (or some other coffee place)…. if your interested I could call you when we do that! I’m not sure about tomorrow though, it being v-day and all, my mom might be going out rather that watching my kids:O)

The longer days are what I’m loving, for sure. It’s so depressing to leave home in the dark and come home in the dark and only ever see daylight through a window. Ick!

  4. Hi Dawn! I am sorry you are missing your knitting group again! We are getting another foot of snow today with ice on top. I am trying to “count it all joy!”
So…get under a cozy blanket and don’t forget to show us a pic of what you are knitting!! :)
