Wedding Ring is Found

After taking it off last week, to put on hand lotion, I noticed last Wednesday, on my birthday, that it wasn’t on my hand. A quick look under the bed yielded no ring and a quick glance around the room yielded no ring. Looking through the garbage also yielded no ring. Ugh. I was almost thinking it was lost and gone forever, but yet, had a slight feeling that it had to be somewhere in the bedroom. I never take it off, anywhere else, and haven’t made meatballs or meatloaf in a long time, that I would have taken it off in the kitchen.

Last night, I went through a box in the bedroom, and didn’t find my ring yet again, but when I put the box back on the floor, I happened to see the bottom half of a circular item on the floor. It was slightly covered by something else. When I uncovered the item, it turned out to be my ring, so it’s safely back on my finger now, where it belongs! PHEW!

So, I guess I can’t recover the newly-knitted scarf that I must have left at Noodles, but I did find my ring. I can buy new yarn (it was cheap) and redo the scarf. The ring would be a lot harder to redo, although we have a nice photograph, so maybe a jeweler could have recreated what I had. I’m so glad we don’t have to worry about it, though! I like the design and I’m very happy with the size of my diamond and a new diamond would have probably been smaller.

A few years ago, my diamond fell out, since one of the prongs had broken. Argh. That was maddening, too, but I found it later that same day, on the floor, near my computer. Again, PHEW! DH thinks that was about May 1999, since the green Saturn was new, at that time. When we got the ring fixed, they put a 6-prong setting on, so I shouldn’t lose the diamond again. It only had a 4-prong setting before.

  1. Belated Happy Birthday Dawn! Wishing you the best of health.

I’m glad you found your wedding ring. When I was on vacation with some friends, my wedding ring somehow slipped from my finger and thought I lost it at sea while snorkeling. I felt so devastated and called my hubby to tell him I lost my wedding ring. The night before my flight, while packing my clothes, I found my ring. It was just inside one of my bags. It must have slipped while I was unpacking my clothes. I was so happy. :)

My grandma always said “Why is it that when you are looking for something it’s always in the last place you look?” I said I don’t know, and in her wisdom she would say… “Because once you find it you stop looking… Hahahahahahaha

Glad you found the ring, what a relief.

How simply awful. So glad you found it. This is why I never take off my wedding ring. I had a diamond heart pendant that my hubby gave me as a wedding gift that I took off and put somewhere for save keeping when the chain broke. I have never seen it again. I really hate it because it was one of my favorite things.

Hi Dawn. Bloghopping…I don’t wear my ring and my husband too! We just didn’t get used to it. And since I gained weight, it doesn’t feet my finger anymore. :)
